What is personal information?

Personal information is information about an identifiable individual, as defined in applicable privacy laws.

Personal information is any information that serves to identify a particular individual and can include: name, phone number, address, identification number, or an online identifier.  Personal information can also be obtained indirectly through an accumulation of data that when considered together makes an individual identifiable.

What personal information does TCC collect

TCC collects the following personal information:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Business name
  • Business title
  • Browsing data and data obtained through cookies (see below)

How TCC collects personal information

In order to sign up for TCC’s newsletter, we ask you to provide the following information: your name and email address. When you become a client of TCC we ask for information that may serve to make you identifiable when all of that information is considered together.  This information is kept in a secure database. We will not transfer, distribute, lend, or disclose any of the information to third parties unless we are required by law or have your express consent to do so.

In addition, TCC may collect personal information in the following ways:

a. Browsing – while you browse TCC’s website, TCC automatically receives and records information on its server logs from your browser, including IP addresses, any pages you visit, documents you download, the type of browser you use and your operating system. TCC makes no attempt to identify you or to track your individual browsing activities.

b. Cookies – When you access the TCC website, we may use a browser feature called a ‘cookie’ to collect information that is not personally identifiable (such as the type of Internet browser and operating system you use, the domain name of the website from which you came, number of visits, average time spent on our website, and pages viewed). A cookie is a small text file containing a unique identification number that identifies your browser, but not you, to our computers each time you visit our website. Unless you specifically inform us (e.g. by sending us comments or an inquiry from our contact webpage), we will not know who you are. In addition to the identified purposes described in this Privacy Policy, TCC may use this cookie information to measure the use of our website and to improve its functionality and content. If you wish, you can reset your browser either to notify you when you have received a cookie or refuse to accept cookies. However, if you refuse to accept cookies, you may not be able to use certain features on our website.

Transformationcatalyst.ca automatically sends cookies to your computer. These cookies are then stored on your hard drive. However, as soon as you close your browser, Transformationcatalyst.ca destroys the matching session cookie(s) kept on our server. Depending on your browser settings, the session cookies stored on your hard drive may remain, but the matching cookies will no longer be retained by TCC.

c. Email – while our newsletter does require that we keep email addresses in our database for communication purposes, we do not collect the email addresses of anonymous visitors to Transformationcatalyst.ca. TCC will only record your email address if you send an email message and TCC will only use your email for the purpose for which you have expressly provided it. Your email address will not be added to a mailing list or used for any other purpose without your consent. However, please be aware that email transmission over the Internet with TCC is not encrypted and, therefore, is not completely secure.
