In working with my clients over the past decade, I've discovered that those with the most success understand and apply Five Basic Truths that keep them focused on generating results...

1) Stay true to who you are:

In matters of style, swim with the current;
in matters of principle, stand like a rock.
- Thomas Jefferson

Your integrity is the foundation for your future. Know what you stand for, what you’re prepared to do, and be confident in your personal boundaries. These simple concepts give you the freedom, the focus and the ability to excel at what’s important to you.

2) Reach for the next plateau:

If you always put limits on everything you do, physical
or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life.
There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must
not stay there, you must go beyond them.
- Bruce Lee

Limits and plateaus are self-imposed. Recognize how you are getting in your own way, identify what you truly want to pursue, and be confident that you can do it. Only then will it be possible for you.

3) The world around you is always in motion:

Delay always breeds danger.
- Miguel de Cervantes

You’ll never be as prepared as you’d like to be. Do it anyway.

4) Small steps climb mountains:

The man on top of the mountain didn't fall there.
- Vince Lombardi.

Sometimes you’ll slip and fall, sometimes you’ll feel lost, and sometimes you’ll wonder if you’ve wandered off the trail. Stay in motion, with a clear goal in mind, and recognize that setbacks and delays are part of the climb. There’s no other way to get there.

5) Stay the course:

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you,
then they fight you, then you win.
- Mahatma Gandhi

Your faith, courage and conviction won’t be shared by everyone, even your greatest supporters. Be prepared for naysayers. They often (though not always) have your best interests at heart and will do what it takes to protect you from what they perceive as insurmountable problems. You know better. Stay with it. You are ready to win.

To your success, differently,
     - Michèle
